The Story behind our Michigan City location:
Alpha Storage Michigan City is truly a "green" business. In the year 2000 we purchased an old, abandoned factory on the west side of town that was originally the old Portis Hat factory from the 1920's to the 1960's, then it later became the JayMar Ruby clothing factory until the 1980's, then it was run as Allied Universal Joint manufacturing until the early 1990's. After the initial phase I conversion of the third floor into storage units, in the year 2001 we opened the multi-story storage facility for business, also offering indoor heated warehouse space for storing cars, boats, RV's, campers, motorcycles and other big-boy toys and collectibles. The building has freight elevators along with pallet jacks, moving carts and furniture dollies to assist you with moving your items onto the storage floors. Alpha storage is fully alarmed, has a sprinkler system, is family owned, and has friendly, knowledgeable customer service. Don't forget about the fenced-in, outdoor storage that is also available. Michigan City Business Hours
Business Hours are the hours that the main office is open to process move-ins, take payments, process move-outs and take you to your unit using our freight elevator, etc. The current business and office hours for our Michigan City Location are:
Monday -Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Closed on Sundays & Major Holidays
Access Hours: Access to your unit is solely through the freight elevator, thus limiting the hours to the business/office hours. For your security, and the security of your items, the Alpha Self Storage policy stating that the freight elevator be operated only by Alpha Storage Employees will be enforced at all times.
